Andrew Van Benschoten currently serves as Director of Advanced Analytics & Insights at Land O’Lakes, where he leads teams focused on applying artificial intelligence to solve real-world problems in agriculture and business. Before joining Land O’Lakes, Andrew held leadership roles in data science and AI at companies including Kraft Heinz, C.H. Robinson, Target, and Oracle, where he led teams building machine learning systems and AI-driven products.
In addition to his industry work, Andrew is a professor of artificial intelligence at both the University of San Diego and the University of St. Thomas, where he specializes in deep learning and natural language processing. Andrew earned his Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of California, San Francisco, after completing his undergraduate degree in biology at MIT. He has authored several academic publications on artificial intelligence and related fields.
He lives in Delano with his wife and their four children, where they attend The Highlands Church.
